Bohopo advances European expansion with Porto hotel financing
October 2026
Bohopo is continuing its European expansion with the development of Maison Arya Porto, a new 22-room boutique hotel in central Porto, supported by a financing facility from Banco BPI.
The property will be the third hotel under the Maison Arya brand, following Athens and Brussels, and Bohopo’s third asset in Porto, strengthening the group’s growing cluster in the city.
Located at Rua do Bonjardim 690 – 694, ranked Europe’s coolest street by Time Out in 2025, the hotel will bring Maison Arya’s intimate, design-led concept – inspired by the elegance of a private European residence – to Portugal for the first time. Construction is now underway, with completion expected in December 2027.
Stavros Pantelides, Director – Acquisitions and Investment Management, Bohopo, said: “Securing financing with Banco BPI is an important step in delivering Maison Arya’s first property in Portugal and strengthening Bohopo’s cluster in Porto. The city remains a high-conviction market for us, supported by strong visitor demand, a constrained supply of quality hotels and attractive long-term hospitality fundamentals.”
The financing was arranged with the support of Porto-based MAADS Advisers, while Portuguese construction company Norasil has been appointed to deliver the project, continuing its relationship with Bohopo following its work on Mila Porto.
Maison Arya Porto forms part of Bohopo’s wider strategy to build a scalable European boutique hotel platform, with further expansion planned across existing and new markets.
