project formosa

A rich, vibrant oasis in Porto.

Formerly a chocolate factory, the asset benefits from excellent connectivity, being a three-minute walk from Mercado do Bolhão, 500 meters from the São Bento train and metro station as well as 11km from the nearest airport (Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport). The existing building has been demolished and a new structure will be created resulting in 43 rooms, with a luscious and inviting backyard which will include food and beverage for both hotel as well as external guests.

An ode to vibrancy, richness and colour. Project Formosa features a captivating indoor garden that draws inspiration from Portugal, India and Mexico, creating a unique and colourful atmosphere. Portuguese-inspired elements like a bespoke fresco, traditional wooden elements and hand-made tiles add depth and history to the space, while the mineral texture and minimalist furnishings offer a serene contrast.

The bespoke fresco with vivid, colourful accents warmly greets customers in a vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere. Reception and furniture are made with wooden elements inspired by traditional Portuguese architecture yet reinterpreted in a contemporary manner to bestow a serene character to the space. Wooden screens, adorned with lush foliage to fashion an indoor oasis, frame the different areas (bar, lounge) while offering a picturesque view from the entrance to the garden.
